Joseph Paolella

Mr. Paolella began his career with the U.S. Secret Service as a Special Agent and was with the White House Protective Service Detail serving under four presidents. 

In 1979, Mr. Paolella founded the American Lie Detection Laboratory in Chicago, Illinois.  In 1987, Mr. Paolella founded the California Organization of Private Police (COPP), which is an organization to help security personnel become more recognizable and more accountable in the security industry.

In 1992, Joseph Paolella became the director of Dr. Chris Gugas & Associates, which was founded by Dr. Chris Gugas, former President of the American Polygraph Association, founder of the National Polygraph Association, and author of “Silent Witness”.  He has conducted over 16,000 polygraph examinations and has testified both in State and Federal courts and is approved by both State and Federal Public Defender’s Offices to conduct polygraph examinations or review the polygraph examinations conducted by law enforcement agencies to see if there were any improprieties during those examinations.

Mr. Paolella is a licensed private investigator in California and Illinois.  He is the founder of Joseph Paolella & Associates, a private investigations firm specializing in criminal defense, background investigations, locating locates and other services.  Mr. Paolella provides executive protection services and uniformed security officers for both private and commercial security needs.  He has also been featured on the FOX TV show “LIARS”.

In 2003, Mr. Joseph Paolella established the American College of Forensic Studies to further the education of those who want to become Private Investigators and Polygraph Examiners.

INSTRUMENTATION:

State of the art computerized Polygraph.  It provides accurate, objective results and is scored by a computerized system developed by the John Hopkins University of Applied Physics Laboratory.

Mr. Paolella is currently working on a book, which involves approximately 21-former Secret Service Agents titled: “The Kennedy Detail”.  The book reminisces about the experiences of these former agents during and just before the assassination of President Kennedy.
